  • To support the Ukrainian refugees and here in Haarlem but also fundraise to support needs in Ukraine.

    Vision - Our vision is to be connecting point for refugees from Ukraine and local initiatives from Haarlem community. To build local community who support Ukraine and help Ukrainians to overcome Russian war invasion.

  • Mission - To make a joint contribution to support of Ukrainians during the war.

    In order to achieve our objective we support the Ukrainian refugees in the following way:

    Local:

    Information support (via Instagram, Telegram groups, Facebook, web site).

    Social support for adults (regular meetings, consultations, psychological coaching support, language courses, art, sports, regular walks around the city and surroundings, etc.)

    Support for children (classes for children, education support, support for mothers with young children, regular meetings of teenagers).

    Support for basic living needs (clothing, food delivery, bikes initiative and other needs coverage)

    And the support in Ukraine:

    Fundraising to support Ukraine, currently it is a project to help with equipment for medical institutions in Dnipro. With direct partnership of MedDnipro. This will be done by organising events, concerts, gatherings and media initiatives.

    For all of these activities we are dependant of the help from local volunteers as well as involving the refugees to volunteer and help each other. For financial support we are relying on fundraising efforts as well as funding from the local Municipality Haarlem.

  • H4U Volunteers:

    The Organisation’s hierarchy is fluid and members are valued according to their time investment. With the help of funding from the local council we agreed our regular volunteers will qualify for monetary compensation as long as the subsidy by the local council is provided.

    In which case the following statements are abided by:

    A compensation of maximum€ 180 per month with a maximum amount of €1800 per year; or,

    A compensation of € 150 per month for a period of 12 months ​​​

    Any expenses they make for the benefit of the H4U organisation are reimbursed, provided that it was agreed upon in advance, and the appropriate documentation for accounting purposes was presented, validated, and accepted.

    The board members do not receive any remuneration for their board activities.

  • The Board oversees the organisation’s financial affairs

    The board’s fiduciary responsibility is to protect the organisation’s financial status so it can meet its obligations – economic and social – to its communities.
