Who we are

Haarlem4Ukraine is a volunteer initiative set up by private individuals in response to the situation in Ukraine. We are not a commercial organisation, nor affiliated to any political, religious or other body. We are simply an organically grown (and still growing!) collective of compassionate human beings who want to do whatever is in our power to help those directly affected by this crisis.

At our core, we are directly connected to the Ukrainian community in the Haarlem area. This is complemented by working closely with authorities, NGOs, commercial organisations and private individuals and initiatives, to form a connection between them and apply the balanced, practical solutions displaced people from Ukraine need.

Our mission

For Ukrainians refugees in Haarlem

We do not know for how long Haarlem will become their adopted home. But it is in our power to make their traumatic experience of fleeing home and settling in a new country as positive as possible.

We strive to provide informational, language and psychological support services, organise social activities and opportunities for the refugees to get involved in the community.

For long-term Haarlem residents

We create opportunities for local residents of all nationalities and Ukrainian refugees to meet, interact and build a cohesive community.

We aim at giving people a chance to get to know each other, learn each others languages, explore traditions and cultures, make friends and offer support.

For Ukrainians in Ukraine

We raise money to support local initiatives directly in Ukraine to bring the help where it is mostly needed.

These initiatives include providing medical support, support for kids and rebuilding of housing in de-occupied territories.
